We watched Jithan (a Tamil movie, for the uninitiated) over the weekend. It’s a remake of Gayab (a Hindi movie, God you are really uninitiated aren’t you?), and if you trace the inspiration tree you’ll end up at H.G. Wells. Kinda like Revenge of the Invisible Nerd.
So anyways, the movie had music by Srikanth Deva, son of the legendary music composer Deva (snicker); and I was inspired to write a detailed, analytical review of the soundtrack. So, here goes.
Excrement.

Lol…I actually clicked the link and waited for a review to unfold…shouldn’t be this gullible..chey.
Great review. I used to refer to Deva as the ‘Thiruttu Thenral’, because of his penchant to copy others’ music. Not surprised his son isn’t doing any better.
Muthuvel,
… but the reviews on the page you opened up were very fair, right?
Terrible music. Karthik — yeah, the son is living up to his Dad’s well-earned reputation.
what does Jithan mean anyway?
Think it means a wizard or conjurer. Probably a take on Sithan, but I am not too sure of that. I’ve heard slang like “Yama Jithan” to mean someone that did something good…
Karthik
I did not realise that Jithan was a tamizh word. But when you say “Yama Jithan”, it sounds familiar.
