And even in Hollywood Oscar awards have been criticized many times in press and this in spite if the fact that they have a well defined procedure for selecting the awards.So its not surprising that such is the state of affairs in India, where it was only a matter of time before politics and nepotism corrupted the procedure.The fact that Bhavatharini even got nominated for an award for best playback singer, leave alone her winning it in 2001, should tell you the state of things.Several members of the jury resigned that year following the awards following controversies.
