We love Vonnegut (and the royal we) at Etcetera, and at least in our minds, we write to please just ourselves. Especially because we got a day job where we do enough pleasing.
I am an Indian engineer (yawn!) in Florida that was fortunate enough to have grown up in a family that loved books. And thanks to Carver, Le Carre, Stephenson, Gibson, Illayaraja, my daughter Shriya and wife Lavanya, I can love like I’ve never been hurt before.
Work like you don’t need the money;

Pavithra, thanks. The site is based on a template called Quentin and I tweaked the fonts to look this way, and changed sidebar completely based on a template called Chocolate. The comments form is from the Manji template.
Considering your love for all things by Illayaraja, I would recommend you listen to two songs he wrote for a Malayalam movie called Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal. Ghanashyama Vrindavangal and Sivatharadamaru are the two I’m referring to, in case you haven’t already heard them, are really beautiful. Other than that, I’m not really a fan of his songs at all. For me his music sort of belongs in the 90s, ie. not electronically wired enough, as the music of a predecessor to Rahman.

But your posts are Kadhai Paneer and Tandoori Roti.
